Dr. Nicole J. Wadsworth has dedicated her life to building Alabama — from our main streets to our manufacturing floors. A nationally recognized economic developer and conservative business leader, Nicole has spent decades fighting to bring jobs, investment, and opportunity home to Alabama communities.
A pioneer in her field, Dr. Wadsworth holds four degrees and two certifications with strong expertise in contracts, economic development, and economic policy. In 2017, she became the first person in North Alabama — and among the first in the state — to earn the noteworthy EDAA Leadership Certification, through a partnership with Auburn University and the Economic Development Association of Alabama.
Nicole’s work is more than economic theory — it’s boots-on-the-ground service. She has visited all 67 Alabama counties more than 25 times, listening and learning how to empower both rural and urban communities. Her mission: unleash prosperity from the ground up. From supporting small businesses and farmers, to recruiting new industries and revitalizing downtowns, Nicole Wadsworth works every day to position Alabama for growth.
Nicole believes every Alabamian deserves access to opportunity — without leaving the place he or she calls home. That’s why she champions Alabama-based businesses large and small, statewide infrastructure improvements, rural healthcare access, quality education and workforce development initiatives, and safe neighborhoods. Dr. Nicole Wadsworth works with Alabama’s primary industries daily and plays a significant role in the recruitment and retention of business and industry within our state. With a career negotiating complex business and real estate transactions, she understand how to create jobs, retain them, and foster long-term growth. Being a productive member of society is an inherent component of Nicole Wadsworth, as evidenced by her dedication to professional, civic, and philanthropic organizations and initiatives as a spokesperson, board member, and corporate sponsor.

Nicole's leadership and service have earned recognition, including being a finalist twice for the Russell Brown Executive Leadership Award for outstanding community contributions. Troy University established the Nicole Jones Student Excellence Award in Economics in her honor — a tribute to her leadership and dedication to students.
Dr. Nicole Wadsworth is a Republican who is also a devoted wife, mother, and public servant. Her husband, State Representative and Attorney Tim Wadsworth, works to strengthen healthcare, jobs, and community infrastructure in House District 14. Together, they have instilled the values of faith, service, and hard work in their college-aged son and daughter who also volunteer in Alabama's communities.
